In addition to being fun, joyful, and satisfying, dancing is a wonderful, community-based activity that is sustained thanks to the efforts of a small group of volunteers. Since 2011, a solid contra dance community has developed in Fergus, and traditional social dancing has continued on a monthly basis. People come not only from this area, but also from Orangeville, Durham, Owen Sound, Toronto, Hamilton and other regions to dance.

We have now reached a point where the torch needs to be passed on. There is a need for fresh energy to sustain the dances. We are asking dancers in the Drumlin community to consider becoming involved in the organization and hosting of the regular dances in this region. Assistance from the current organizers will be available in a consultative capacity.

If there is little or no interest, then sadly the Fergus dance community will have to fold, and the last dance will be November 24th. Let us know if you are interested in being part of the organizing team by November 1, 2017 by contacting Janice at 519-843-9971 or
